EMI RFI Gaskets
EMI RFI Gaskets are important to protect modern electronics from electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) emitted by electrical circuits. This interference can degrade performance, but can be easily eliminated by using a gasket made of conductive or absorbent material. Electronic devices must also protect themselves from external interference that can be caused by the correct use of an EMI RFI conductive gasket. EMI works directly from your plans to provide a quality shield in the form of RFI or conductive gasket.
It uses special materials that conduct or protect electricity while providing a sealing barrier. This will ensure that your gasket meets and exceeds your expectations. There are many types of conductive materials to choose from, including rubber and foam, with all the normal sealing properties of conventional gasket materials. Most rubber EMI materials are a multi-material compound composed of both rubber and conductive filler. When blended properly, these two materials provide both excellent electrical and environmental sealing. These rubber EMI materials also provide more conductivity and corrosion resistance options as you can choose which filler to use for your unique application.
Instead of conducting electricity, some materials absorb EMI. Instead of completely absorbing and grounding EMI, these materials convert the absorbed electricity into heat and distribute it in a controlled manner.
If you are not sure which material is the best for your application, you can examine the material properties in the "Sealing" category and find the most suitable material for you.
